Liftoff to Space
We’re building a tidy spaceflight knowledge base: signal-only news, structured tech (rockets, spacecraft, engines), all launches and milestones. Clean UI, clear links & filters — so you can find the essentials fast.
The project is under active development: minor bugs, delays and data inaccuracies are possible. If you spot an issue — ping us and we’ll fix it.
Where do the data come from?
From open sources — mainly Wikipedia, Gunter’s Space Page, Next Spaceflight and others — plus official press releases, presentations and talks.
Other languages?
Coming. It’s a lot of text, so if you want your language sooner — consider joining the team.
How often do you update?
News — as events happen and time allows. Databases — as needed. The site — when new pages are ready or old ones get refactors. Speed depends on the team’s workload.
May I reuse your data?
Yes. News — with author & source. Database entries — attribution optional. For bulk usage, please contact us so we can agree on the format.
How can I help?
Join the team (details here), send fixes and ideas — or support us financially.
Space & web enthusiasts. We write, verify, design — and launch ideas into orbit.
Tracks launches and announcements, writes fresh pieces. Can be paired with a personal blog or TG channel.
Maintains launch & events databases and keeps data neat. In future — curator of our space wiki.
Frontend, backend, DevOps — code, features and polish. Sometimes magic, sometimes debugging.
All visuals: UI, styles, beauty. A developer’s best rival — out of love for pixels.
Gives a voice to missions and articles.
Understands what those lines we draw really mean.
So there’s something to land on — just in case.
Mission & launch videos.
Rocket models and animations.
Kerosene, methane, CFD and a pinch of magic — to make it pull harder.
If we suddenly need to haul a Soyuz.
Fixes everything that leaks — including CSS.
Donations pay for hosting and development. Even a couple of euros is fuel for the next update. We’re open to cooperation —
We ship in small releases. Here’s what’s in progress, up next, and in ideas.
-
“Spacebook”: plain-language, visual articles — orbits, ballistics, engines, rocket structure. Short examples and illustrations.
-
Gallery: best rocket & mission photos and videos, launch-site shots, memes and fan-art — all in one place with handy filters.
-
“Tech”: new sections — orbital stations, science payloads, comms & EO satellites. Cross-links and filters between objects.
-
Profiles and comments under news: clean discussions, moderation and contribution badges.
-
Weekly digests: curated highlights by email — or a short YouTube videobrief.
-
Cosmodromes: an interactive map with detailed pages for every launch pad.
-
Trajectory simulator: visual manoeuvres and orbit plots.
-
A Mars-colony game: build a base, run launches and assemble rockets.
-
Launch our own spacecraft to Earth orbit — maybe even farther.
